THE 1st STUDY VISIT IN LUBLIN WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT "QKIS (Quadraspidiotus Knowledge Information System) network"

The 1st study visit within the "QKIS (Quadraspidiotus Knowledge Information System) network" project will take place at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland) on June 18-19, 2024. Awaited meeting will be held at the Department of Plant Protection (Subdepartment of Entomology) University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the hosts of the meeting will be:

Representatives from Association of Fruit Growers of the Czech Republic Biosad z.s. (Czech Republic), the Institute of Plant Protection, Agricultural Research Center (Hungary) and partners from the University of Belgrade (Serbia) will take a part in the study visit as the members of the project consortium.
This meeting is the first of three planned study visits, during which Consortium members will work on an invasive pest species, the San José scale (SJS), occurring in the V4 region.

WORKSHOP-DAY
At the laboratory of the Department of Plant Protection (University of Life Sciences in Lublin) the Hosts of the meeting will conduct practical training on the: SJS identification, preparation of microscope slides, the morphological features of particular developmental stages (under the optical microscopy), degree days (effectiveness temperatures) monitoring based on research methodology and SJS management methods.
NETWORKING-DAY
Project Partners will take a part in field trips to orchards located in Opole district(commune: Wilków, Łaziska). During the field trips Partners will have the opportunity to observe the damage caused by SJS in Polish orchards, collect material for analysis and obtain information regarding orchard farmers' problems caused by the SJS feeding.
One of the goals of the study visit is to exchange the knowledge and experiences between Project Partners and work on the "Practical guide on SJS monitoring and management in V4 region”. This will be used to create future recommendation for fruit producers and other stakeholders on the SJS management.

The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia as part of the Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The fund’s mission is to promote ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

Grundlegende Informationen zu VŠÚO

OBSTFORSCHUNGS - UND ZÜCHTUNGSANSTALT HOLOVOUSY s.r.o. (G.m.b.H.) beschäftigt sich mit der Forschung der Obstbauproblematik und Züchtung der Obstfrüchte ununterbrochen seit fast sieben Jahrzehnten. Die Forschungstätigkeit betrifft praktisch alle Obstfrüchte, die auf dem Gebiet der Tschechischen Republik als Marktkultur gezüchtet werden. Im Rahmen der Lösung der Forschungsprojekte, die von verschiedenen Geldgebern (MZe NAZV, MŠMT, GAČR, MK, TAČR) unterstützt werden, schafft fast alle Ausgabentypen, die von der Ergebnisbewertungsmethodik einer Forschungsorganisation definiert und in den Informationsregister der Ergebnisse übergeben werden. Es handelt sich sowohl um Ergebnisse des Veröffentlichungscharakters als auch um anwendbare Ergebnisse. Die Forschungs- und Wissenschaftsmitarbeiter veröffentlichen die Forschungsergebnisse in rezensierten Impact-Zeitschriften, aber auch in anderen fachlichen und populären Zeitschriften. Seit 60 Jahren verlegt die Organisation die Zeitschrift Vědecké práce ovocnářské (Wissenschaftliche Obstbauarbeiten). Die Zeitschrift veröffentlicht die originalen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet des Obstbaus. Sie ist eine rezensierte Zeitschrift, eingetragen in der Liste der rezensierten Non-Impact-Zeitschriften (Periodiken), die in der Tschechischen Republik verlegt werden. Sie wird in CA B Abstracts/Horticultural Science Abstracts, Plant Breeding Abstracts, AGRIS zitiert.
Zu den erfolgreich vermarkten Ergebnissen gehören rechtlich geschützte Sorten, bis jetzt wurden fast 85 einzelner Obstsorten angemeldet und registriert, weitere Sorten gehen durch das Registrierungsverfahren durch. Eine Reihe von Sorten hat den Rechtschutz in der Tschechischen Republik und nachfolgend auch in der Europäischen Union bekommen. Besonders gibt es Interesse an Kirschsorten in der Welt, zwei Sorten haben das US Plant Patent bekommen. Weiter wurden in der VŠÚO Holovousy einige Ergebnisse auf dem Gebiet des Halbbetriebes und geprüfter Technologien für letzte fünfjährige Periode realisiert und verträglich an den Benutzer übergeben. Einen wichtigen Anteil des Ergebnistransfers der Forschung in die Praxis stellt die Züchtungsmethodik dar, die an professionelle Benutzer – professionelle Obstzüchter übergeben wird.
